History of Nivias

Arglath Swiftvigor Nalakukane, assumes the throne. He ruled with an iron fist. The northern country of Nivias has progressed significantly. The Great Hill Country provides the food (barley, hay, oats, and potatoes) and the Hornbreaker mountains provide the resources to the newly formed capitol of Fournemouth. Much of the country still relies on the strength of their own backs to survive but the snowy wasteland forces more and more to make the transition. The hate of the Inululanian goliaths has continued to grow. Arglath, a hardworking successor to his father, led the ever growing Nivian nation to a more militarized view on progression. He created a centralized military and reinforced the northern lands especially now that the other countries have begun to industrialize.

The Inulanians marched down from the mountains and attacked the northern settlements heading straight for the farmlands. Their plan was to hold the only farmable soil hostage and ransom them for the throne of Nivias. The third descendant of Laumel Strongfist, Tararin Mindweaver, led the Inulanian troops. He was a powerful mage, the most powerful the world has ever seen. He was very mysterious and practiced dark magic that has not been seen to that caliber since. Kirea had some inside information from her most trusted spy Modak Threadwanderer Uthenu-Kalathi and prepared a counter attack in the southern portion of Silvum’s Reach. A bloody battle ensued for two days and with a narrow win for the Inulanian’s. Tararin, the unrelenting leader, pushed forward despite the devastating loss of life. They then overtook the farm lands and forced the Nivians to surrender or retake the lands.

Kirea planned an impossible attack. She would lead her troops in on the front lines. She enlisted the Hornbreaker dwarves to dig tunnels underneath the hill country and attack the enemy then disappear. This worked for a time. As half of the hill country was taken back into Nivian control. Kirea was there on the front lines the whole time. Kirea decided to attack from the source. She used her spy to find the location of Tararin and challenge him to one on one combat. Kirea, in some divine prank, lost the battle. Tararin then used something, some sort of magic, still unknown to this day and took control of Kirea’s mind. She then became an undead champion of the Inulanians. She marched towards the old capital of Fournemouth. And thus the north was sent into another age of chaos.
