Stepaneven

From miles away travellers can see the thousands heaven-reaching towers spanning the Stepanevan skyline. Bridges and suspended roads and walkways criss-cross the spires of a hundred different styles. Pointed rooftops, stone turrets, crystalline spikes and ceramic domes reach toward the moon at night overshadowing a bay packed with ships. The city sprawls across two peninsulas, huge walled bridges lined with guards span the strait controlling the sea traffic and connecting the two vast cities. The skies are dotted with airships trading goods, the seas with ships from all the nations of the world and the streets and towers packed with travelers and locals, nobles and peasants, all sheltered within the largest city in the world. Stepaneven is the biggest city in Eustronda, and also the richest and most diverse. It is ruled by the Cloaked Krali, a secretive group of unknown individuals believed to be mostly powerful merchants. The city is situated in and across the Stepan Strait, the only way in or out of the Great Trade Sea. Because of this, they control all travel and commerce in and out of the area and have become incredibly rich. Due to their steep tariffs, most merchants choose to just trade to Stepanevish merchants for them to distribute elsewhere at a much greater price, and are now the centre of trade in the world. The Cloaked Krali receive tribute from all merchants in the city, and with the money they have constructed the greatest city the races of Eustronda have ever layed eyes on. Their vast wealth also employs The Dead Immortals, one of the most sizeable and effective mercenary companies in Eustronda. It is said that the richest individual in the worls lives here, but their identity is unknown. Most striking to visitors is the fact that the entire city is built vertically, each level worthy of being a city in itself.
