Saltport
Saltport is a small fishing and naval village on the Valur coast sitting at the mouth of the West Orania river. It has a sizeable military presence to prevent smuggling along the river and out to sea, and sends such criminals to die for entertainment in its' arena. At the moment, the arena is scant of any fighters due to lack of detained criminals. In the town also operates a group of sooth-saying half elves named the Iron Doorway and a cult of Etia-worshippers called Mercy's Paradise who view the arena battles as a form of human sacrifice.

Government
Semi-democratic with elections every decade to decide the mayor, though the Iron Doorway controls the elections on the most part.
Assets
- The Arena - Contains holding cells for criminals who are released to fight for their lives the next day as a form of trial by combat. They may fight other prisoners, wild beasts, or even champions who choose to fight. They are given access to a few rusty weapons and worn down armour to defend themselves, and it is often seen as divine retribution.
- The Barracks - For the military host in the village, mostly retired naval folk who defend the waterway from pirates and smugglers and check ships coming in and out of the West Orania River. Lorenzo, the spiritual elven blacksmith lives here and is adamant about shutting down the arena, because it is inhumane in the eyes of The Mother. He has allegedly sabotaged the arena battles recently by freeing criminals and bribing guards to let smuggling ships through.
- The Iron Ponies Inn - An Inn consisting of group dormitories, run by Loralynn, a spiteful half-elf bard who is a member of The Iron Doorway and is looking to find evidence of Lorenzo sabotaging the arena.
- The Marketplace - features a few regular food and good stalls, along with the Shrine to the Mother where Loranys the ruthless half-elf heals locals and travellers in the name of The Mother. Loranys is blackmailing Lorenzo for money, as she knows about his sabotage.
- The Elite Battleaxe Inn - An inn with cheap rooms run by Bine, a young human paladin who often runs for mayor and wants to destroy The Iron Doorway.
Guilds and Factions
- The Iron Doorway - A faction of Half-Elven seers who own an underground library in Derrin's Vault. They control the centre of the village and use the power of prophecy to control the people of Saltport. They are disliked but have been given the power to count mayoral votes because of their divination powers so control who is in charge. They are led by an elderly well-meaning sage named Televar. They support the practice of the arena and predict a group of travellers will come to town and commit a crime to be thrown in the arena.
- Mercy's Paradise - A cult worshipping Etia, whirlwind spirit of Suffering and Mercy. They are hated because they worship this trickster gods with live sacrifice on religious holidays, but it is deemed legal because they do it through way of the arena. They believe that by sacrificing to Etia they will be granted with mercy in the eyes of the divine, and if they fall out of Etia's favour they will suffer a terrible disease. They do not have a leader, but a council of elders who remain a secret. Other members include Halykilia, a brooding half-elf antiquarian, and Sir Boris, a benevolent knight who follows but does not serve the cult.
