home to the gear axe worth close too 500Gp but of course sold for much more its a relic of a weapon designed by the last owner harry a muscly half orc who loved to create clocks in his spare time the gear axe was his priced possession but after he died and gave the store to Wrenn an X-wizard who has given up a life of magic to tinker and create clock work creations though the Axe still holds a place in his heart.   Wrenn is a gnome Wizard of level 5 who has no interest in the disappearing people and frankly wants to stay out of it, in fact most of his customers are tourists and this missing people business has actually caused an increase in sales so he has no reason to help you unless its for monetary reasons.   all he knows is that there is some thing weird in the spire of the Hearty Oak (due to his magic) and frankly recommends staying away from it if you can.  
Gear axe +3 Great axe (1d12/1d6)   can absorbed and release lightning damage. as a reaction to taking lightning damage you reduce the damage to zero and store it within the axe. the axe deals 2d8 lightning damage for every attack absorbed in this way and can store up two 8d8 lightning damage at one time in which point charging the axe any more causes a explosion of electricity damaging all creatures for 10d8 lightning damage on a failed Constitution saving throw DC 16 or half as much on a successful one.   in addition the axe can transformed from one great axe (1d12) to two hand axes (1d6) as a bonus action These hand axes are attracted too one another like magnets and are pulled back too one another at the end of your turn as long as there within 100 feet of one another and not nothing is blocking its path back. when the hand axe is thrown it has advantage attacking targets with metal armor.
