Sfväldin
Sfväldin (pronounced SSVAAL-din) is a continent in the southern hemisphere of Eumaea. It reaches down towards the world's south pole, and most of the continent is covered in taiga, cold mountains, and tundra. It is largely considered a difficult place to live for many races, however Ghavocûmn, a dwarven nation, has prospered here for milennia, largely due to their hardiness, as well as the fact that many of their cities are built partially or wholly underground, where climate is less of a concern.
Sfväldin is located south of Draydar and to the southeast of Dunia.
Geography
Sfväldin is mostly a cold and dry continent. While its northern areas are largely cold grasslands and taiga, the land elevates to the south as it approaches the Avad'dûn Mountains, known colloquially as the Mountains of Madness. Beyond this mountain range is the arctic tundra of Eumaea's southern pole, known as Môrtia or The Dead Lands.
History
It is said in legend that Dwarves were created at the core of Eumaea, and dug their way to the surface out of sheer determination. Sfväldin is the dwarves ancestral home, and where they claim they first saw the sky. While some groups of dwarves expanded out from there and found homes in other parts of the world, particularly in Draydar, Sfväldin has always been a holy land to them.
