Whitmere

Whitmere is a settlement in the east of Kaien with a population of around three thousand people. It is located alongside the River Gloaming, about a mile from the Gravelands.
In particularly wet months, Whitmere is prone to flooding, so many of the buildings have been built on stilts about a metre above the ground. About half a mile outside the town is the Crescent Stone Arcanum. The people of Whitmere are mostly fishermen or peat farmers. They have a relatively cordial (yet cool) relationships with the Gravelanders, who they took the idea of putting their buildings on stilts from.
I really love how you name things. Gloaming and Gravelands are very evocative.
