Verian Lighthouse

  A single lighthouse sits on a cliff on the south coast of Veria, warning ships away from its rocky, treacherous shores. It is the only building still standing on the island, the only building not reduced to ruins or retaken by nature. It is the only place on the island where a light still shines.   The lighthouse, in its current form, has stood for just over a century, constructed from the bones of its predecessors. Between storms and fires, the lighthouses of Veria always seem to meet a grim fate. Some say the land is cursed.   The keeper of the lighthouse - and any family he may have - is the only person allowed to dwell on Veria since its violent conquest by Serukis in 4011 EA. They are reliant on supplies from the mainland, though many keepers maintain a small vegetable garden to supplement their diet.
