The Imperial Observatory

The Imperial Observatory is located on the top of one of the five hills in the Kaienese capital city of Lordspire. It is made up of three separate buildings - the observatory itself, which contains what is reputed to be the largest telescope on Etrea, a lecture hall, and a space that contains a library and offices for the people who work there - and a large grounds.
It is not considered to be an arcana - although teaching is carried out there - as the distribution and learning of knowledge is not its primary function. It was created to observe the night sky and the movement of the stars. Astronomy students from all over Kaien will visit the Imperial Observatory at least once during their studies.
I love a good observatory; what is their model of the universe like at this point? It sounds like they have the data to refute geocentric models, but maybe they have constructed something elaborate like a dozen nested crystal spheres or something? The perfect year probably fuels some ideas about the universe too; do they study a form of astrology in addition to astronomy?
They know of the existence of other planets and they know the universe doesn't revolve around them. They definitely are at the stage where it is a sort of astrology/astronomy hybrid, I think.
