The Iaxons

  The Iaxons are the hardy denizens of the small cluster of islands known as the Broken Isles, located a few days travel off the southern coast of Ilwyrika. The Iaxons hold permanent settlements on only two of the six islands in the group, near the only sources of fresh water. On the other islands, rainfall collects in the hollows of rocks.
  Due to much of the terrain of the Broken Isles consisting of just bare rock, the Iaxons live a harsh life. Much of their day to day is about food, whether gathering, preserving, or hunting it. They base their year on the comings and goings of different seabirds, as a large variety of species use the group of islands as breeding grounds.
  The Iaxons are proficient sailors. There is no wood native to the Isles, and driftwood is rare, so their ships are made from materials such as bone and hide, much like their houses.
