The House of Silence

  The House of Silence is a temple dedicated to Seiran, the Koushan Mai goddess of secrets and stars. It is the last temple remaining that is built for her; there were once three, but the other two have long since been pillaged for parts. It is located in the village of Tostnad'a Sten, hidden away in a mountain valley.   Like all temples of Seiran, the House of Silence is built in the shape of a six-pointed star, with a central courtyard open to the air. The six points represent the six tenets of Seiran, whilst the open courtyard allows her priests to stargaze on clear nights. The courtyard must be cleared of snow on a regular basis, due to the demands of living in the mountains. It is often melted for fresh water.
