The Hali

Merfolk of the Teeth

The Hali are a group of freshwater merfolk that live in the mountains of the Teeth. They live in a trio of mountain lakes that are interconnected by flooded tunnels - Faolan's Eye, Mirror Lake, and the Hollow.   They have evolved with a thick layer of blubber to protect them from the freezing temperatures, and use echolocation to navigate the dark waterways they call home.

Interesting! These seem to be more mammalian than many merfolk are depicted; do they still have scales, or are they more like cetaceans?

I picture them more cetacean like than other merfolk, for sure. I picture all the polar merfolk that way too, so there is probably an evolutionary connection between them and the Hali.
