Land's Shield

On the edge of Valonia

The Seruic settlement of Land's Shield started life as an imperial fortification during the war of the 4450s. After the Erish were pushed back beyond Duszan's Wall, it was used as a base of operations for the Seruic army to ensure the invasion was not renewed. It grew as a settlement during the construction of the Bulwark, which is when it gained its name.   Nowadays, Land's Shield has a population of over five thousand people, and fans out from what was once the gate to the country of Sgaren. As the land beyond is now encompased in Serukis, the gate is no longer as strictly guarded as it once was. The settlement is a hub of trade between the Skarrens and the rest of Serukis, and is currently thriving.

I imagine it is quite a trade hub - are there famous roads which pass through?

There would definitely be at least one named road that passes through, probably a couple.
