Coldhill

  Coldhill is the largest settlement in the high lordship of Dercia, with a population of around fifteen thousand. It is located in the foothills of Mount Evershear, one of the Teeth, and is spread out across three hills. It is the considered to be the gateway to the mountain, as the only safe path up Evershear's slopes is beyond it. The oldest parts of the city are on the centre hill, but over time the city has grown and sprawled to contain more people.   Though Coldhill is not the seat of the High Lord Ereth, it is often viewed as Dercia's most important city. Coldhill produces over half of the food required by Frosthollow, located up the mountain where the high lord has his castle. It is also sometimes used to hold important diplomatic meetings - but many high lords throughout history have insisted those who come to deal with them make the climb.
