Ethna

Ethna is an ancient world preserved in the midst of the Triple Star Empire. It is located in a not particularly busy area of the empire, so natives are not disturbed by the outside universe. The planet has remained entirely natural, as its inhabitants lack large-scale terraforming technology or even industrialism. It is a beautiful place, completely untouched by space travel, advanced technology, and colonization. Ethna's biosphere is incredibly diverse, spread across humid jungles, blazing deserts, windy plains, ice-topped mountains, and subtropical swamps.  

Legal Status

By decree of the Triple Star Empire, no Imperial citizen may visit the surface of Ethna or enter it's orbit except cultural specialists appointed by the empire. Any drones sent down to the planetary surface must initiate total self-destruct immediately if there is any chance they may have been spotted. In addition, releasing images of the Ethnan surface has been strictly banned to prevent use as a vacation outlet. Legally, Ethna is an honorary member of the Triple Star Empire, but lacks representation in the Imperial Parliament. The Empire is not permitted to interfere in any local politics to preserve the integrity of their culture and way of life.    Effectively, Ethna exists as an entire world in a bottle, completely oblivious to anything around it. Total noninteraction laws have permitted Ethna to evolve entirely independently from the rest of the galaxy. If natives ever do achieve space travel, it will be an unwelcome wake-up call to their civilization that they are quite obviously not alone in the universe.
