Anise

Lady Anise

Raw authenticity pulses through Anise's very being - not as choice or moral stance, but as fundamental truth. Her body runs perpetually cool, silver eyes carrying fierce vibrancy, black hair falling to her knees when freed from its usual practical restraints. At 5'3" in human form, her athletic build masks strength earned through centuries of battle and survival. Her true form (nekon) stands shorter at 4'9", ebony skin shimmering with iridescent blue-purple scales that catch light like captured stars, the same scales become luminous in the dark. Draconic wings span over ten feet, while a prehensile tail and expressive wolf-like ears betray every emotion. This Nekon shape amplifies her abilities sevenfold.   The Order's compound carved her earliest memories in pain, their lightning whips writing false virtue into her flesh while twisted scripture poured poison in her ears. Each crack of those energy weapons burned lessons deeper than skin - humility through pain, temperance through denial, chastity through rejection of self. Their "mercy" in sparing her life came wrapped in chains of righteousness, each link forged from weaponized faith. Their attempts to chain her through virtue instead taught her true compassion. Their punishment for pride gave her humility untainted by shame. Their denial of love showed her its real value.   Water and ice shape her soul's expression. Like a winter stream, she flows around obstacles while maintaining her essential nature. Power manifests through environmental manipulation rather than magic, pulling moisture from air and freezing it with conscious effort. Her crystallization technique creates permanent ice, though the cost drains both physical and spiritual energy.   Combat ignites something primal in her spirit - not bloodlust, but pure ecstasy in feeling absolutely, perfectly alive. Each blow received sends tingling exhilaration racing through her nerves, each near-death moment brings crystal clarity. She fights for that perfect instant when every sensation burns with intensity, when reality narrows to the pure truth of survival.   Trust comes slowly, built through actions rather than words. Touch remains a carefully guarded intimacy, trauma transforming it from comfort to threat. Lightning still sends terror through her bones, though she'll face that fear without hesitation to protect others. Her playful nature often gets misread as flirting, social awkwardness emerging from being too genuine for most situations.   Now bonded to Valaura as a Knight, her wandering heart has found purpose in service. She processes reality through immediate sensation rather than analysis, her reactions pure and unfiltered where others craft careful responses. Every moment of joy, every genuine laugh, every honest emotion becomes its own quiet victory - proof that her spirit remains unbroken despite life's cruelties.   Physically unique traits mark each form:
  • Human: Silver eyes with black rims, perpetually cool skin, scent of mint and eucalyptus
  • Nekon: Blue eyes with vertical pupils, iridescent and luminous scales that dim at will, draconic wings, wolf-like ears
  • Drotsu (Tiger): White with black stripes, lynx-like ears, ability to purr unlike normal tigers
  • Core abilities include:
  • Water/ice manipulation requiring existing moisture (Any thing that contains moisture/water can be used)
  • Enhanced regeneration (faster than normal but not instant)
  • Complete immunity to cold
  • Natural combat instincts
  • Blood Puppeteering (Almost never used due to moral constraints)

    Pandimonium and Mimics

I wasn't expecting to suddenly be yanked away from Sloth's realm and thrown right back into the mimic's library.   Found a whole new section of the library I didn't know about. Boy were there a ton of those little fuckers. I killed at least a hundred. The hardest part honestly was finding food. Thankfully, some random terraces with gardens held a few small things growing. In no way filling, but better than nothing. I was starting to get hungry enough to attempt cooking a mimic—pretty sure it would have been disgusting.   I must have been running around fighting these things for at least two solid weeks before I was suddenly yoinked once again. This time, something must have happened as Sloth's energy interfered with whatever force likes to yank me around. I'm just going to start calling it the Shuffler, because it feels like I just get randomly shuffled to a new place.   Anyway! Getting distracted—I ended up back in Pride's garden. The sudden transition left me with displacement sickness, which allowed one of the otherwise easily dodged little book mimics to gnaw on my arm. Probably would have chewed down to my bone before I recovered, except it made the very fatal mistake of chewing on me in front of Pride.   All I can say is Pandemonium ensued. Not even exaggerating. Pride, Larin, Lani and myself ended up returning to this library, Pride having used his mirror as a portal. It was a casual trip, meant for us to easily deal with these simple little book mimics. Lani was already trying to burn it down, but I wanted to at least try to save the non-mimic books.   You know, I had spent months in this place, the first time I was lucky enough to be near a kitchen, though a lot of the food was spoiled. Then the couple of weeks the second time in a completely different area of the Library. The whole time, I was only ever attacked by the books. Just books. So imagine my surprise when a whole ass fucking bookshelf gulped down Pride!   Wtf? Did it just determine I wasn't worth it and let its babies gnaw on me while it saw Pride as something juicy? Fuck that shit.   Between Pride stabbing it with some kind of flaming sword from the inside, and me ripping it in two, Pride was rescued, mimic was killed.   Cool beans, end of story right?   Oh no. It's never that simple.   Because even as I was working to get Pride out, something happened to Lani and somehow one of the books turned into some kind of sword or something and stabbed her. I still don't understand any of it, but long story short, she was in serious danger. So now I was trying to save Lani, called on the Maw via the fork that was near Lani to try and help her.   I'm feeling guilty because I let her get hurt in the first place even after promising Seth I'd keep her safe. I also feel guilty because Larin was trying to help but with the 'help' being undead it was causing Lani to panic, making it all worse. Had to hip bump, or more accurately tail bump that dried up corpse out of the way. It was rude, and I hope I didn't hurt her feelings, but I figured I'd deal with it after the crisis was over.   So while I was concentrating on trying to channel Gluttony and give it a means to save Lani a bunch of shit happened. Seth showed up, compounding my guilt, though I'd probably have been beaten into a bloody mess if he'd thought I was at fault. I faintly heard Zara too. No idea how or why she was there, and I could smell something not quite right with Pride. I didn't get a chance to piece it together. I was too busy making sure Lani didn't die.   Don't know how long I was in that state, but I was snapped out of my meditative trance with Seth calling to me. Reluctantly I handed Lani over. I still wanted to help or protect her, but I know Seth would be better equipped to do so. Anyway, I could finally take a moment to catch my breath and figure out what was happening to Pride right?   Nope.   We got yeeted back to the garden. Like I said. Pandemonium.   But hey, at least I wasn't bored.

    The Deadly Library

When I first landed here, and after the displacement sickness wore off, I was excited. A library! I may not get to read as often as I should, but I still love libraries. There's just something wonderous about them. Especially when it's clear that the books in them are ancient.   But hey, I never expected these ancient books to try to eat me! Seriously, beginning to think I'm going to lose this arm after one of the damn things latched on. I barely got it off before it checked clean through the muscle and bone. It is not a pleasant experience.   I'm going to guess they are mimic. Question is. How many books in this library are actually books and how many are mimics?   Guess there's only one way to find out!
