On Cosmic Alignments

Yalasrans believe that most, if not all sapient beings, can be categorized more or less based on certain cosmic elements. These elements are order and chaos, benevolence and malevolence, all on a scale of positivity and negativity. Those considered between certain energies are called "fair," which is used in this context to mean even or average, and doesn't relate to one's morality directly. "Grey," used for the alignments between benevolent and malevolent, represent a more balanced amount of positive and negative energies in a being.   These are not meant to be rigid categories, but rather broad indicators of one's general inclinations. It's also been long-observed than many people can fluctuate over time, and some can even fully shift from one alignment to another based on their actions and development. Additionally, it's not uncommon to be somewhere between the primary alignments, and be skewed more in one direction than other, while not being fully in one or the other alignment. However, considering the nuance that entails, most people have refrained from trying to categorize each between-instance of the scale, especially after many scholars who attempted it found it to be an exercise in frustration.   The alignments are as follows:   Orderly Benevolent
Tends to obey rules, order, and laws, and tends to do so in the name of altruism and conventionally perceived 'goodness.' One such aligned has energies that tilt toward positive and structure.   Fair Benevolent
Tends towards acts of altruism for the simple sake of compassion. One under this alignment has energies that, while tilted toward positive, have both elements of order and chaos, giving an air of unpredictability.   Chaotic Benevolent
While one's energies may be aligned toward positive, they're also more bent towards chaotic, unpredictable outlets. Often, these people are thought of to most likely be, or become, vigilantes, or to exhibit similar behaviors if not outright breaking laws.   Orderly Grey
Has a predisposition for simply following rules and laws of order, often for the sake of keeping things under control. Leaning neither toward positive nor negative energies, these individuals, while considered balanced, are considered most likely to be staunch traditionalists and unwilling to change.   Fair Grey
One who counts themself among a rare few. This means one's native energies lean neither toward negative or positive in any notable degree, and neither does their personality. In many ways, they can be considered balanced, if somewhat unpredictable when one is unfamiliar with their type.   Chaotic Grey
While one's native energies are neither notably positive nor negative, they tend to be incredibly unpredictable, even capricious, and often act on whatever whim takes them. They're not intentionally chaotic for the sake of it, but tend to be so simply due to their actions.   Orderly Malevolent
While they follow rules and laws, these tend to be ones they have created themselves, rather than society's or any other commonly enforced structure. Albeit predictable, their energies aligned towards the negative often makes them all-around unpleasant to deal with. Often considered controlling and, if in a position of power, likely to be tyrannical.   Fair Malevolent
One who often does what they want, when they want, and their alignment towards negative energies means that they also typically have ulterior motives and ill intent in almost every act. Not exactly unpredictable, but often considered untrustworthy.   Chaotic Malevolent
Those under this alignment tend to be contrarians. They are often considered exceedingly selfish and malicious, and tend to be so unpredictable that they become predictable in their trend of behavior. One such as this is likely to cause trouble for the sake of self-amusement. Highly unlikely, but not unheard of, for one such as this to be in any position of power or leadership.
