Ka'ilash (Ka ill lash)
History
The Ka’ilash was a trial to become a Monarch in from 208 KE until 330KE.
In 208KE, following the death of Hable Qala, the position of monarch was vacant. Worried about a war for power, city leaders agreed that the monarch would be chosen via trial. Any scorponi who felt worthy to rule Skaleria would make the three day trek out of the canyon and across the desert in order to present themself before the black garnet. Violence, as well as climbing the canyon, were strictly forbidden.
The Ka’ilash was discontinued in 330 BK, King Mazaois moved the capital of Skaleria north, to the city of Anopiar, the home of the Black Garnet, and made the monarchy an inherited title from parent to child.
In 1572, the Ka’ilash became a popular trial for any who wish to be a powerful lightning mage. The trial was encouraged by Queen Sarsiel as a successful attempt to bring lightning mages back into the area. This tradition continued until 1992, when the Horde sealed the black garnet away from public access.
