Disaster / Destruction
Genasi were wrongly slaughtered for their crimes of trying to overthrow the Kingdom.
Upon the Lunar faction discovering what was going on, a small group of individuals were gathered to determine the best course of action and discern who was responsible. Unfortunately, one of the members of the council was a changeling, and in an effort to protect his people, pinned the blame on the Genasi People, known for Djinn heritage and thought to be overly ambitious and confident. The King did not react well to this news. Almost overnight, thousands of the Genasi people were wiped out by elite soldiers. Since they were not ACTUALLY involved in the plot, most of the Djinn-born were taken completely by surprise. As the Genasi numbers dwindled, it was finally revealed that the Lunar Faction has been infiltrated, and the true culprits were discovered. Droukar offered its sincerest apologies and made what amends they could, but nothing could return the thousands of lives lost or repair the broken trust. Genasi were placed under the protection of Droukar, with favorable terms offered in a treaty to have the Djinn-born join the Kingdom. The Genasi did not react well to that. Restitution was accepted, but the offer to join the kingdom was…politely declined as the people began to pick up the fractured pieces of their broken lives and culture. The Changelings that had been discovered were either killed or disappeared, and since the events were never made public to make the removal of these insurrections easier…very few know the truth of why the Genasi were so suddenly and viciously attacked and then made peace with. Even now, 200 years later, many of the longer-lived races still consider the Genasi their enemies and spats between locals are common, even though the guards are made well aware of their duty to the Genasi outside of their walls.
