Moldsnare

Moldsnares are intelligent, mobile mushroom folk. They live in colonies under old cities. How they form and begin consciousness is a thing of mystery as they are not seen until they are well established. As the colony ages, the Moldsnares evolve into several types. There are workers that seem to help the colony grow by moving materials that are moist and easily compostable. To aid in finding this material there is the second type of Moldsnare, scouts. These are fast-moving little mushrooms that will dart around a sewer/cave system that the Moldsnare colony has made its home. Any colony that has come close to expanding beyond its first room has a third type, the soldier. The soldier Moldsnare is normally the first type encountered by those living in the city, though some would argue that seeing a scout run past a hole would be an encounter. At the heart of the colony are the Moldsnare king and queen. These two are the only types of Moldsnares that are taller than 4 feet with the king being slightly over 5 feet.
