The Æthir Winds

The Æthir Winds are the natural phenomena that nourish the landscapes of Estanon. Wind currents carry energy in streams across the world, with areas being affected differently. Areas such as Esthuin are hemmed in, isolated from the large streams of the Steppe, but entirely within the smaller streams of the coast and the forest itself. The winds influence the fertility, the weather, magic sensitivity and the passage of time in any given place. In the event that multiple streams converge, such as over the vast open spaces of oceans and the steppe, these aspects are wildly varied. The exact way in which these energies manifest is dependent on the spirits present in the area. Caring and kind spirits provide healthy conduits for whatever Æthir is present in the area, whereas spirits and souls that are bent on vengeance or destruction render whole regions barren through extreme weather or other seemingly natural disasters.
