Gaeda

Gaeda is the Elverfolk deity of beauty and crafts. She was with the Naerfi expedition that landed in Eyvindara. Gaeda sought to commune with the spirits of the forests, the souls that reside in the leaves of the trees, and the majestic elks. She sought Moedi's help in learning their language, but unlike Moedi, she was not concerned with involving herself in the matters of their ecological balance. Rather she wanted to see how to provide for the rest of the Naerfi without disrupting the balance. To be able to carve out a space for themselves in the forest that didn't threaten any of the lives in it.

She is considered the matron of all crafting for the Elverfolk, she's credited with the creation of all the Selaeyrr, the ancient tree structures that make up most of Ahntaesi. She is believed to have convinced the spirits of the trees to grant the tribe an endless supply of wood to make their tools. The Elverfolk recognize this by making offerings to the oldest trees in the forest in the name of Gaeda. For the Elverfolk Gaeda is akin to a god of civilization. The paragons of authority and community are Vestar and Asta, but it is to Gaeda whom they owe all the knowledge that makes their lives possible. Many Elverfolk carve prayers to Gaeda in their bows, knives, and other tools. Every generation the Elverfolk pick a village crafter who acts as a priest of Gaeda. It is their responsibility to ensure that the needs of the village are met without disrupting the spirits of the forests.
