Nyx
Nyx is known by many names - Pharasma, Death, the Matron of Souls. A mysterious goddess, she was the only Essarian God to break rank in their war against the Pliscians, and only then after her halls were full to bursting with the souls of dead mortals and gods alike. With her help, the Pliscians were able to complete the Legacy and lock away the rest of the gods in the Divine Prison. The Pliscians crafted her an Iterum of her own, known as the Boneyard, where she would be able to host the spirits of the dead before shepherding them to their final resting place.
Devoted to preserving the balance of death and life, Nyx has many followers who devote themselves to preparing the sick and dying for their final rest. She abhors undead, believing their fascimile of life to be a mockery, and intelligent undead in particular serve as the antithesis of all she stands for.
When a creature is being resurrected, it is ultimately up to Nyx whether or not to release the soul. She considers many facets about the creature's life, and judges those attempting to restore the deceased's life.
