God-Emperor Alles-Taluus

  Alles-Taluus was a powerful religious figure, military leader, and the God-Emperor of the Allesend Empire until his death in 153 AE.  

History

Alles-Taluus was born as Taluus to a poor farming family in Allesend. He joined the military at the young age of 15 and quickly rose through the ranks, astounding everyone with his innate magical abilities. Contemporary mages and clerics claim that Taluus' power was the greatest that had been seen in generations.   At the age of 25, after achieving the rank of General, Taluus claimed to have been granted a vision from the god Alles-Kalmar, who had created Taluus to be a physical incarnation of the deity. He claimed Alles-Kalmar charged him with the duty of uniting all peoples under one divine rule. The Alln Senate saw the promise of the young man. They swiftly elevated Taluus to the title of God-Emperor and changed his name to include the divinty of the Allesaeia religion.   Alles-Taluus restructured Allesend into the center of an Empire. From the remnants of the Alln Senate, he created a Holy Council to guide him in ruling. In preparation for the coming annexation of the rest of the continent, Alles-Taluus commissioned a new calendar reckoning, establishing his day of ascension as the new calendar's first day.   Soon after assuming control of the nation, Alles-Taluus laid claim to the rest of Allethra and began his campaign to conquer the continent. Despite his armies being outnumbered by the combined forces of the rest of the continent, Alles-Taluus personally led the invasion of the other nations and with his strategic genius and battle prowess, and with the Empire's highly trained troops, conquered all of Allethra by the end of 3 AE.   For the first few decades of occupation, insurrections were handled directly by Alles-Taluus. Some he handled peacefully; others he quashed without mercy. Under his rule, the Empire solidified and united under his name.   During this time, Eshad University was founded in Daripur by Alles-Taluus' favorite Hila advisor, and a revolution of arcane studies began. Other cultural endeavours were personally approved and funded by the God-Emperor.   The foreign nation of Morstal landed an invasion force in western Hiladhel in 115 AE. Alles-Taluus led the repelling force personally, driving the invading army back into the sea. This would be the last time the Emperor left the capital.   In 153 AE, God-Emperor Alles-Taluus was proclaimed dead. It is unclear what the cause of death was, but with the speed that the Holy Council seized power, it is presumed that there was foul play involved. Nevertheless, Alles-Taluus' death spelled the beginning of the end for the Empire. Over the next 150 years, the cohesion he had strived his entire life to establish unraveled, eventually leading to the fall of the Empire.
