The Blind Temple
Geography & Lore
High in the mountains on the West Faith Quarter at the very edge of the Ruidiz Mountain Chain at the Easternmost cliff sits The Blind Temple. A two-day hike from the city, the trail leading to it's gate is winding and narrow. Though many claims to have made the pilgrimage to worship at the Arcus Altar, few are willing and able to make the trek up the mountainside. The Lenticularis Altar is said to be made of sunlight, forged into hard light, it is said to be nearly blinding to those who lack faith, but emit a warm glow around believers. So few make it to the top of the mountain, and even fewer still to the altar that such beliefs are hard to confirm, or deny. While the journey to the top of the mountain is arduous, once inside the Blind Temple, the fresco painted on the ceiling makes for a warm 70-degree day with a light breeze. Similar to the grand hall, each room accommodates one patron which also has similar works of art painted on the ceilings, rendered in stunning detail, the frescos actually seem to move if stared at for any length of time. The monks also provide medical care and nourishment for all patrons during their stay.Marked Bishops
Bhan-Clo, the head bishop and devout monk holds two services a day and is said to be rather elegant in his delivery and simply the most inspiring speaker one has ever heard. Most of the monks spend their days completing their chores, chanting, and meditating. Many of the monks believe that with the appropriate amount of devotion, they, like Bhan-Clo, can receive the Gift of the Ascended. Bhan-Clo is one of the few monks to ever receive the gift, and rarely speaks of it. Bhan-Clo's services, while legendary for their power to inspire have been criticized for being obtuse and vague. Speaking of "golden cities that stretch out into the aether, glittering with a resplendence reserved for Valkur himself," or the rantings of "orbs floating like diamonds in the sky that can be simply plucked from the heavens and imbued with magical essence." Services like this have caused whispers of heresy to make their way up the Ruidiz Mountain Chain. Though none have broached the topic with Bhan himself.Available Items:
