Bank of Espen - Mithrigal

History & Lore

The history of Mithrigal isn't lost on anyone. Least of all the goblins that man operate the Banks of Espen. Having seen the outcome of cultures not integrated into mainland culture, a large part of the initiative behind the Bank of Espen's expansion was to build bridges between cultures in cities with tumultuous pasts. They found no bigger challenge than Mithrigal.   The bank itself was on the verge of closing.  Dwarves weren't much for saving gold and had a deep distrust of goblins.  Supplementary sources of revenue should have come in the form of loans during the reconstructions, however, the Red Commissions ate away at potential borrowers' desire to extend themselves leading to a total recession of Mithrigal's economy.

Management:

Turx Weedheim was a goblin adopted after his parents died in a caravan ambush. He grew up in a Tabaxi fishing village with a Dwarven mother and Genasi father. This allowed him to be familiar with both Dwarven, Genasi, and Tabaxi culture which came in handy when managing the Bank of Espen at Mithrigal due to their rather diverse population. He was the natural choice of Goblin leadership when considering who to charge with making the Bank more profitable.  Being fluent in Dwarvish, Common, Undercommon, and Primordial allowed for smoother negotiations when seeking to build relationships with the Tabaxi. And even though the Genasi have not returned to Mithrigal since the Second Genasi Rebellions Turx has continually reached out to Genasi leadership in an attempt to connect these disparate cultures.
