Oosugon (Oo-Sue-Gone)
Oosugon as a kingdom may not be densely populated, or heavily built up, it is however the main connection point between Kesh'mhett and Isteeria. Allowing for trade and travel between the two kingdoms to exist. The area is mainly composed of foot hills and coniferous forests, with a few smaller mountain ranges and lakes.
As this area is one of the main trade routes of Esparea it is often beset by bandits and thieves.
The plant and animal life in this region is healthy and abundant thanks to the frequent rain in the area.
Architecture
The Kingdom of Oosugon is a temperate rain forest and also a corridor for strong winds from both the coast, the mountains, and the desert.
With fierce storms being common in this area the buildings here are built differently than any other kingdom in Esparea.
Buildings in this kingdom are made of wood cut from the giant trees of the region.
Buildings are also built with several different angles to help the wind flow around them easily and less destructively.
To keep the wooden walls safe heavy overhanging roofs are used, fluting the heavy rain off and away from the buildings.
In addition to this heavy load baring columns are used. the columns are free standing and therefore easily replaced if damaged, and also able to flex with any heavy winds or earthquakes occur. These buildings differ still in one more way, instead of nails these buildings are held together with braces, again to allow flexibility and easy maintenance.
The combination of techniques creates a unique pagoda style.
Public structures are also built in this style and using wood.
The streets are made of firmly packed earth for ease of access to horses and carts.
The streets and roads are also enchanted so that rain water streams off the sides and into the surrounding greenery.
keeping paths firm and dry year round allowing for easy travel and trade, as well as ensuring that the abundant and necessary trees can grow and thrive.
The bandit problem Bandits thiefs and ruffians do tend to frequent the area, however few actually stay for very long as the kingdom of Oosugon has a strict hard labor policy for any caught in such acts. the mostly come up from the unforgiving great plains of Abinland. Forming large nomadic tribes.
