Creation Myth-As told by Ao
Summary
In the beginning there was Light and Chaos.
The darkness spread for eternity until light was brought to the universe. This light was named Ao and the Chaos, Tharasdun.
Ao thought to himself he would create something beautiful. He created from himself the gods. Each an aspect of himself. His wrath, his grace, his magic, ect.
Once he created the gods he turned and created the world, and the planes. and inhabited it with mortal life.
Jealous of Ao’s creations. Tharasdun approached Ao, with creations of his own. Misshapen abominations created from evil and malice. Thus the dark gods were born.
Ao was, at first, disgusted by his brother's actions. However in his wisdom knew that all life must live in balance. Thus he bound his children and the creations of his brother to the various planes, and charged them to watch over the mortal world.
Tharsidun was so enraged that his creations were bound, away from the beauty of the mortal world, that he struck out at Ao and engaged in battle with him. After an eon of conflict, Ao struck Tharasdun down, imprisoning him, for all time.
The child gods were distraught by their fathers conflict and Ao decided that, in order to maintain the balance, he would wipe it from their memories. After which he left his children and creations to thrive and blossom. Taking the mantle of Chaos from his imprisoned brother, it’s darkness mingled with his Light, becoming the essence of Balance.
