The Oōruritē Ring
The Oōruritē Ring is said to be the oldest magical ring to exist on Esau. Every Enjils Aura Sitaare the ring somehow finds it's way to a new owner.
People who seek it, assume that anything made of Oōruritē will be wonderful with the ability to heal or turn them into one of the living Stars. In a way it does both.
When not being worn, this ring looks to be made of like pure translucent Oōruritē - with a collection of nine Stars on the face (signet). It looks similar to opal, except the sparks inside this ring is the colouring like the darkest sapphire, rich amber and deep crimson.
When being worn, the ring changes appearance as the magical properties are used - willingly or unwillingly by the wearer. It becomes more crimson as it drains soul (sapphire), spirit (amber) and blood (crimson).
The warning comes in the form of The Starlight Ring Poem.
History
No one knows who made the ring made of Oōruritē. It is rumoured to have been formed during the dark days using Eldritch magic. Although, the first recording of it was not until Enjils Aura Sitaare of 29AG.
Krampus is frequently blamed for the ring appearing in a new location - without any factual basis.
Significance
The Oōruritē Ring
Wondrous item, Rare (requires attunement)
Once place on a finger it cannot be removed, until the wearer dies or the next Enjils Aura Sitaare.
It can restore HP to another person, from the wearer, when the rings face is placed hard on another person's neck.
Show spoilerWhenever the wearer would be put at 0 health or slip below - instead the wearer rolls all their HP dice, add their Constitution modifier, and regain the resulting number of hit points (as if during a short rest) - gaining that amount of HP and loosing all levels of Exhaustion. The HP is drawn from the wearer - reducing the wearer to half their current HP - giving that amount to the other person.
Show spoilerThe HP is taken from the end of the wearer's life, which is otherwise known only by The Fates. As the wearer uses this ability of the ring, which happens without their choice, they shortern their lifespan.
When the wearer dies they become a cloud of dust that sparkles like starlight - although do not ever become one of the Stars (of the living kind), or the Outlying Space type star.
