The Fall of Nyxis 1003 SE
One of the most pivotal events of the Sunlit Campaigns was the Fall of Nyxis, a major Lunar stronghold known for its towering spires and ancient libraries filled with forbidden knowledge. Imperial forces besieged the city for nearly a year, finally breaching its walls with a sunsteel ram blessed by the High Cleric.
The Aftermath:
- The surviving defenders were offered a choice: conversion or execution. Most refused, and thousands were burned in a public display meant to cow the remaining enclaves into submission.
- Imperial scholars seized and transported thousands of scrolls and relics to Solinthar, hoping to uncover the secrets of Lunar magic. Many were declared heretical and destroyed by the Inquisition.
- Within a year, however, the Covenant struck back. The Battle of the Bloodied Moon saw Crescent Blades ambushing an Imperial supply line, turning the tide and enabling the Covenant to retake Nyxis. The city’s liberation became a symbol of resistance and defiance.
