I got 43 deliverables up and running and another 12 spells for you to tes- wait. You aren’t Rinnis. Where’s my Creator and who the hell are you?”

“Arcane. Intellect. I’m a mind in a jar, more or less. Well, i think i am. Rinnis had some other opinions but he was usually wrong about something whenever he opened his mouth. Never enough to matter, just enough to piss me off.”
Audio of human responses could not be recreated due to potential speakers all being faced away from visual sensor.
“I’m going to miss him. I never thought….. it just never occurred to me that he’s got a meat-bag of a body. I mean sure he had me working on a preservation spell and he had me collecting any papers on consciousness that his peers published, but…. I was busy. I’ve been busy since the day he woke me up. Well, made me, I guess. I finally, FINALLY get his stupid rush deliverables done, and he’s gone. Holy shit this is going to take some time to process- even for me.”
"Deliverables? What's a deliverable?”
- brown-haired male
A Gift from the Past
“Projects. Designs. He would give me a problem and tell me to make it go away. I’ve got a stack here for things like…. Well, let’s look down the line, shall we? I’ve got blueprints and rune lines for the creation and enchanting of an Arcane Construct that can run maintenance on the shelter and itself, I've got a spell to regrow hair- but biology spells are nasty right about now. I need him to actually cast it a few times to see if it’s stable. I’ve got six different sizes of grow rooms for clean crops. I’ve got an actual no-shit self-sustaining infinite duration levitation spell I need him to-“
” Wait! What was that?”
-red-haired male
“You like that? It’s awesome, actually! By locally pulling and balancing fire and wind magic and stabilizing it in a classic tripoc rune, you can create a permanently floating object that breaks the usual rules of conservation of energy and-“
“Not that. The grow room.”
-red-haired male
“Huh? Oh. Yeah, i finished that project about 1017 years 6 months 22 days, 14 hours and 46 minutes ago. Wasn’t too terribly hard, I just invented a process to break down the Magichem into three component compounds, get an earthen magic filter up and running, and then bingo, you’ve got clean soil. The Stela Ord do it all the time naturally. Nothing too crazy. What? Why are you looking at me like that?”
A Distasteful History
Since the tragedy of the Jordbani the study of magic has been considered to be in very poor taste in even the most lenient of communities, and the subject of strong purging in most, particularly in large cities which feel the effects of the wizard's blunder that caused it. Magic itself seems to have suffered Magichem Poisoning in it's own peculiar way, becoming somewhat unreliable, which makes going into wizardry as a profession even more unattractive than it was immediately following the Jordbani.
Nevertheless, magic still mostly works, there are still wizards who practice it in secret, and there are a number of magical artifacts that still exist in a mostly functional form even today. Many are leftovers from the ancients. The more well-protected the magic item has been from the chaos of the Jordbani and the Magichem fallout that ensued, the more likely it is to be operational.
Magos Rinnis Kuellin was an individual with a deep-seated sense of privacy. So much so that even 1200 years after his death, no one, not even the most skilled scroungers, had managed to enter his living space and workshop. He was also an individual who took seriously the obligation of wizardry to "fix the mess" that was the Jordbani. Within his workshop lies a veritable treasure horde of knowledge, powerful magical items, ancient and cryptic devices, and a collection of projects in various states of completion. Some of these curiosities may even be useful.
Recently, a small band of scroungers have managed to penetrate his workshop’s failing defenses and has found the miracle of miracles within the wizard’s ancient domestic fortress something designed to stop the effects of the Jordbani from killing mankind.
