Tiruga Islands
Kumi is a volcanic island arc in the southeastern Ocean, known in native traditions as the Tiruga Isles. It lies east of the Akutsic world and southeast of Daitō, stretching from the equator to 18°N and from 35°E to 45°E. Formed by ancient subduction and later plate rifting, Kumi is geologically active and biologically diverse, resembling a tropical Iceland.
The chain is home to five culturally and linguistically related Tirugan peoples: the Mukhaan of the western isles, the Arubé of the southern big island, the Sekhu of the central island, the Tórran of the north, and the Ezzir of the outer northern isles. Despite their shared ancestry, each group maintains distinct traditions, dialects, and island identities.
The name Kumi (玖美) is an exonym used by the High Elves of Daitō, derived from the Kanshi Chiyo coordinate system.
