Saber Skiing
Saber Skiing is a sport where you attach two curved blades to the bottom of your footwear to reduce friction against the ground, along you to slide against ice very easily. When competitive, participants usually have a derby with everyone trying to reach a certain point on a frozen river. To make the sport less dangerous, many people coat the tip of the blades in wax to prevent stabbing, but it is still a dangerous hobby.
History
Saber surfing was invented by soldiers who needed to cross a river quickly, so they used their swords to slide across the ice as fast as possible. The sport was pick up by their children who began to slide across the frozen river of their town. Over time, people started using curved blade to not get stuck on the ice, and the actual derby sport was created all over The Outlands.
Execution
When the blades are on your feet, you have to slide your feet in a V motion to propel yourself forward. When you are able to do that, everything else will come naturally.
Components and tools
You need two curved blades, some tough boots, and a frozen surface.
Observance
Saber Skiing is all about finding the right time to do it. Too cold? The ice will be so thick that if someone took a fall, they'd break something. Too warm? The ice could break and someone could fall through.
