Highwind

Highwind is the Erozorona equivalent to hydrogen in the real world. It is a lighter than air gas used for transportation and some experimental weapons, mainly for airship and hot air balloon travel. Highwind was illegal for quite sometime before the revolution, stunting the development of technologies using highwind as their active component. Highwind is very flammable, so use in airships and general experimentation is a very dangerous task.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Highwind is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic, lighter-than-air, flammable gas.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Highwind is very flammable and light gas.

Origin & Source

Highwind is created when a lightning spell is run through freshwater, splitting it into a useless gas and liquid highwind.

History

Highwind was only useful since 782 when it was discovered that it was much lighter than air. Since then it has been used for hot air balloons in its earlier stages, and eventually airships.

Everyday use

Highwind is mostly used for airships and hot air balloons for transportation.

Byproducts & Sideproducts

By creating highwind, you also create a nameless liquid byproduct that poses no harm to any life.

Distribution

Trade & Market

Wizards who have access to the "shocking grasp" spell use their magic to create liquid highwind for purchase. Since they have cornered the market, they are able to make the price whatever they want.

Storage

Highwind requires a pressurized tank for storing gas.

Law & Regulation

When The Capital ruled The Outlands, highwind was illegal because it gave citizens the capacity to escape The Outlands through the use of flight technology. Since the revolution, highwind has been used for public and private transportation of goods and people across The Outlands.
