The Queenguard
The Queen’s guard is a secretive and select organization, hand chosen by the Queen. When the Queen and the King married, one of her few requests was that she be granted a private group of attendants and guards unaffiliated with the King’s order of Paladins. The Queen’s agents come from all class, race and skill backgrounds. There is little training that they receive after joining beyond etiquette and protocol but they are often chosen from the successful Spearfall riders.
One matter that is known is that the Queen wears a veil in public and it is a common practice for her to utilize body doubles. All of her “Masked Maidens” dress in similar manner and utilize veils, several are skilled with magic as well. The second circle of guards are the “Knights of the Veil” wearing elaborate armor of lacquered blue and custom made face masks that are works of art in their own right.
Other agents of the Queen operate independently, serving as eyes and ears throughout the Wardland. The Queen’s manner is subtle and polite, and her agents manifest this well. There is never any doubt of the King’s enforcement of Justice or diplomatic ability so some wonder exactly what the Queen’s agents are working on. Publicly, they state they are an academic group, searching for art, lore and artefacts within the Wardland and making sure that they are classified and secured properly.
The Queen’s agents do frequently commission for certain taskings to independent groups or heroes.
