The Bloodsteel Guild

The Bloodsteel Guild is one of the oldest guilds in Peloch. They started as a blacksmithing group specializing in making weapons and armor from Iron harvested from dried blood. This slightly macabre practice is unique to the Wild Winds Desert and the magics within. In the centuries since its founding, the guild has become a major political power in Peloch and across much of northern Hyarbarrin.
In its modern form, the Guild trades debts to be paid in blood, turning them into Bloodsteel for services of all kinds, from monster slaying to personal protection to guarding trade goods and routes. While they now take payment in gold, blood is still the only payment accepted for their most valuable services. There is good money to be made by hunting the great monsters of the Wild Winds Desert and selling the blood to the guild. The fresher, the better.
The guild holds a tight monopoly on producing and selling the eponymous Bloodsteel. This amazing metal is unparalleled in its ability to take and hold enchantment and to keep some of the properties of the creatures whose blood it is made from. These weapons and armor are highly prized by warriors of all ilk and fetch a high price.
Structure
There are two branches of the Bloodsteel Guild. The heart of the guild is still in its manufacturing and control of the eponymous bloodsteel. This magical steel is unparalleled in its ability to hold an enchantment. It is also known to keep some of the magic properties of the blood it is made from. The Guild Master is the leader of this branch of the Guild, honoring its importance in the organization's founding.
The guild has added a second branch of mercenaries, monster hunters, and bounty collectors who help to keep the guild well-stocked in raw material. While you can hire a Bloodsteel mercenary for coin, they usually take their payment in blood.
