Class cyphers
Class cyphers such as Druidic or Keeper's Argot are designed to be hidden in plain sight. Everybody can see the signs and symbols, but only few can understand them. Both of the following cyphers have multitude of uses and versions. Some of these variations are universal, but some can only by regional.
Druidic
In history many druids used music to cast spells and channel nature's magic. With ascension of
Lin and creation of bards, druids ceased to use music as it wasn't theirs to bear. However music and rhythm still play a big part in druids' life - as a big part of their language. Because of their connection to music, some bard can easily learn druidic.
Melody: to communicate with the rest of their group a druid can play a melody only known to them. It can be slow and calm - meaning safety, or fast and jumpy - meaning danger. Some melodies may indicate an emotion that the playing druid is feeling or a movement that they are trying to execute. These melodies can be used very effectively in a city, where bystanders would, at most, assume that the druid is a street musician.
Birds' trills: similarly to music, various chirps, trills and other birds' sounds can be use to signalize danger, anger or fear. If a druid is lost in the woods they can whistle so their party can find them. In the woods full of birds, a piece of information started by a druid can be carried by birds that live nearby to spread that information further. It can be useful in cases of big threats, when all woodland beings need to evacuate or hide.
Whistle of the wind: This method, similar in use to two previous ones, can be used in windy places, such as mountains and in ravines - where the the current and direction can be easier controlled.
Vibrations: druids, like some animals, can use vibrations of the earth to send small signals to each other. They look out for vibration's strength, frequency, rhythm, speed and direction.
Cloud reading: some clouds may hide secret messages in their shape, size and colors.
Plants: druids - masters of nature - know where specific plants grow naturally, so seeing a artificially planted flower or ever a whole flower composition may signal to the druid that they're heading into a dead end, or into quicksands, lair of a beast, trap or another druid's cove
Stones: similarly to plants, arrangement of small stones may hide a messege, that is incomprehensible to the untrained eye.
Spoken/Written: using spoken or written Druidic is extremly rare. Some prayers and rituals require spoken version of druidic to be used.
Druids (or some bards and rangers) learn this language through experience, sometime with help of a more capable speaker. This form of communication is purely instinctive and based mostly on gut feelings
Keepers' Argot
Keepers' Argot is a language (or a cypher) created by the Keepers, with only their interest in mind. However since their organization is worldwide big it is safe to assume that every rogue and rascal knows it, or some parts of it, since almost every one of those scoundrels were taught by a Keeper, or by somebody taught by a Keeper.
Incense: coming from religious beginnings Keepers use and burn incense to create many different messages. Number, colour and arrangement matter in terms of sending a signal. The fumes, that are created by an incense, are also difined by their size, color and general appearance can signal many different things.
Scents: often use in combination with incense various smells can signify different things to a Keeper.
Bows and Ribbons:colorunderstandingseparately
Sounds: similarly to druids, the Keepers use sound in their cyphers. However finding a Keeper's sound message is even more difficult than finding a druidic one. Argot is hidden inside all songs and melodies played within the city walls. Combinations of notes or words sung or played off-key can be gathered together into a cohesive message. This form of communication can be used with words, which then create a sentence, or with notes, which are use as a melodic code that then needs to be decoded.
Anagrams: various businesses, that work wit or for the Keepers use some sort of anagrams in their names to sneakily indicate that Keepers are welcome.
Letters and written argot: Keepers' letters are often protected with multiple layers of coding. First - made up signs instead of letters, second - used different languages in the same letter, often even in the same sentence, third - hidden messages within the message (first letter of every row, the last letters of every sentence etc..), forth - messages from 3. layer are usually anagrams/codenames that can only be understood by other Keeper. Sometimes written version of non-verbal variations of Argot can be used in the letter, such as "He is a long red ribbon" (He is a big threat)
Spoken argot: Argot, unlike Druidic, has a greatly developed spoken version. It uses anagrams, codenames, spoken versions of other variations and completely innocent words, that were given a new, not so innocent meaning.
There is a book in Keepers headquarters, that functions as a guidebook and dictionary for new members. To use it, every member has to show, that they are in fact a Keeper and to what end they use this book.
