Eritaam A Records of Legends Setting

The world of Eritaam is a vast and rich plane of various cultures and beliefs throughout the world, each at various stages of progression and civilization. From the sporadic and disconnected forest and tundra villages of the Beastlands to the medieval castles, keeps, and cobblestone roads of Domineer, Vildrum, and Aviduum to the victorian and near-modern mansions of the unholy aristocracy of elves in the southern tundra nation of Nova, people from all races, skillsets, beliefs, and even varying levels of public magic can be found throughout the world of Eritaam. Areas of high and low fantasy exist, as not all societies progress at the same rate with regards to the magical arts. As such, where some nations lack in magical prowess and capability, they compensate for it with technological advances in some way, shape or form, whether it be siege warfare, scientific and alchemical advances, medicine, or even architecture. This gives players freedom to come from nearly any background and also connect their history to a specific location, whether it be local to the current setting of a campaign or a traveling foreigner here from afar.   Demons and devils have their own influences on the societies of the mortal planes, and beings of celestial might guide the hands of mortals to defuse and disrupt their evil plans as best they can, but the heroes are not always outright victorious. Many sacrifices have been paid and powerful magics unleashed upon the world in order to keep the world intact. A powerful being known as a Sevorahk - "Abyss Lord" in the common tongue - was once able to succeed in his plan of being summoned to the material plane with his armies of demonic thralls at his command. It took the cooperation of several nations coming together for the first time to undo this horror upon the world at a great cost to all of their people. Since that event, known as the Battle of Endless Blood, evil has left a permanent mark on the material plane of Eritaam, and its influence only continues to grow with time...
