Ifense Lidell
The Peerless Seer
"What Ifense managed to perfect is a true expression of divination magic. A means to see the fabric of magic itself. Truly we owe them a great debt for their effort."In the early days of Myrisia, the study of arcane magic was beginning from almost a clean slate. Among the people were a small number of driven arcanists who threw themselves into studies of magic, focusing their attention on various kinds of magic. Among these people was a sorcerer named Ifense Lidell, who had always found magic coming as if it were second nature. It was trying to teach others how to use magic which was more difficult, and so they set about trying to discover ways to share what they knew. But divination magic allowed an individual not only to see for themselves what they sought to know, but to share it with others if the magic was formulated properly. Thus began the life's work of the Peerless Seer.
Ifense had trouble writing down everything in a fashion which could permit others to read, and so they instead chose to infuse their memories into crystals left behind. Through these crystals, Ifense left behind instructions on how to use divination magic to identify active magical effects. Through this, it became possible to put these instructions to work determining how those magical effects were created so they could be replicated.
With the processes Ifense pioneered, it became possible for a practiced arcanist to use divination to 'read magic' and learn exactly how to replicate active spells. There was no guarantee for it to be a successful replication, as this hinged on the ability of the individual to comprehend what they were seeing. Further experiments of Ifense helped secure their place as the first to truly push the boundaries of divination magic.
