Allied Adventurer Guildmaster

One Leader, Many Followers

"It's less like herding cats, because cats listen better than half these adventurers. I swear, I had better not get one more report about some of our members deciding it was fair play to stripall valuables from a chapel they were annoyed at! I'm going to, single-handedly, revive the practice of repaying blood for blood in the region if this keeps up."
— Ledaara Brimstone, Allied Adventurers' Guildmistress
Fairly new to the world, the Allied Adventurers' Guild has become a force to be reckoned with in the wilderness around the Broken Spine mountains. Their influence has been spreading through northern Helenic, and the guild has grown enough to require more serious attention by the leadership. Carver Cladwell and Ledaara Brimstone have become minor celebrities among the region, for better or worse. And so they have had to increasingly lean on the title of "guildmaster" (or "guildmistress", in Ledaara's case) during negotiations and disputes. Since there had been a fairly loose tradition of testing adventurers who want to join, these disputes cover a lot of ground.

The most pressing problem for the leadership is how to properly handle a growing membership without becoming too restrictive. Most adventurers are in Helenic to avoid oppressive management in the Rhyliss Empire, or Sages of Myrisia employing magical bonds which prevent certain actions. Most of the authority the guildmasters have is due to the adventurers showing deference, and the local authorities in Northrun backing them up when necessary. Efforts have been made to find some way to more firmly bind members of the guild to behave by the charter rules, but most methods have been dismissed for being as unwelcome as the alternatives.

In the current year, Carver and Ledaara share leadership and are often in agreement. So far there has not been a case where they do not agree on the course of action to take, and Carver has implied he will simply retire again should the work become much more difficult to balance out. Ledaara has been keeping an eye out for a successor, knowing she can't keep the position forever. With the current situation around Parseil with the Lord of Ashes, there is no good moment to really consider the matter. Even if it might be important to have an assured continuity of leadership.
