Vault of Myths
The Vault of Myths is an unfinished building, designed by the famous architect Sabrina Omond. While it was being constructed in the City of Carlenia in Isolde, the Devastation Syndrome hit the region. It has become representative of all the was lost in the pandemic, and the consequences that would follow, as the city of overwhelmed by the disease. Eventually, survivors were forced to evacuate, running desperately from both the disease and the Ravagers that now swarmed the once proud city. Meant to be a shinning jewel, as much of an art piece as a function fort, the Vault was never completed.
Since Carlenia is so far in Ravager controlled territory, the Scourge holds firm control over the region. Few have seen the vault in modern times aside from unfortunate spies, scouts, and those running firmly in the wrong direction from Isolde. Of those that have and survived, they report a city kept in the same state of repair as the day it was overwhelmed. The Ravagers repair the Vault only to the point it was at when they got there. They make no moves to complete it, despite its potential as a fortification. But that is little surprise, Ravagers are unable to create, only to mimic and copy what they have already seen. The blueprints of Sabrina Omond's vision long-lost to history, and to the chaos of the pandemic. So they put bricks and tiles where they once stood. And not a piece more.
The only way that real life would return to the city would be if the Elementals would take control of it again. However, it's unlikely that Isolde would be successful pushing so deep into the territory. So instead, the unfinished skeleton stands vigilant over a city filled with the descendants of the husks that overwhelmed its originally occupants. Looking over the bodies of the newest victims of the Scourge from those that lose their way in the Frosted Fields.
