Isolde Mixes

While certainly not a homogenous group, Isolde Mixes are a group that has existed for centuries, and often synonymous with refugee. Throughout Isolde's long history is a culture with a focus on genetic and cultural purity, often coming at the cost of the lives of those that dare to fall in love with another Elemental. And their children. Forced to flee, Isolde Mixes are commonly found on all habitable continents other the Northwestern continent controlled by the Fire Elemental. Far from home, and forced to adapt, it isn't rare to find Mixed Elemental in these places that are many generations down from the last 'pure' Ice Elemental in their family lineage. And while those that run rarely have anything in common other than a shared trauma of being rejected for what they are, they become tightknit communities. Remaining hopeful that they will be able to stick together throughout their travels to safety. If one could call it that.

Groups like the Tuscendite in Tierra argue that these refugees should be banned, and their beliefs often lead to Isolde Mixes becoming segregated into small neighbourhoods. Often forced to share rooms with far too many people to ever be considered safe. Rumours spread about how they are actually spies from Isolde, and that they will always betray the country they are in for one of the Elemental lineages they descend from.

Of course, none of these rumours are true. Isolde Mixes are completely cut off from Isolde, and no matter how many generations removed they become from the original runaways, Isolde keeps the score. Even if an Isolde Mix was to give birth to a 'pure' Ice Elemental, Isolde would still consider their lineage tainted. Returning to the Southeastern continent would be a death sentence. For those further down the lineage, the only country they know is the one they reside in. And more often than not, Isolde Mixes part Lightning Elemental travel to Tora, and those part Earth Elemental head to Tierra, so even if loyalty could only come from blood, they do have it. This is never enough for those that essentially believe in the same purity ideals that the Isolde Mixes have travelled so far away from.
