The Shift

By the time The Shift occurred the High Elves and their great civilization was in its death throes, but life was not easy for any of the other races. Humans, already far more numerous than the other races, found themselves in a world carved up by everyone else looking to find their own way. Some found succor under wary alliances with Dwarves. These alliances would ultimately save all of Humanity. The Shift was cataclysm. A great fireball ripped through the sky, skewing the planet's axis. The great white moon was given a companion, a smaller, red cousin that would spend eternity chasing it across the sky. This caused tremendous upheaval across the planet as continents were violently moved and ice caps melted, causing catastrophic flooding. Population centers throughout the world were consumed in the flooding.Towards the end of the era the planet has settled down but is plummeted into a short Ice Age.
