Missive on Airship Progress

Your Imperial Majesty,   We have labored many long days in the Vernian Veld as you directed. My assistants, Trennen and Elyse, have proven most resourceful when it comes to devising methods to contain the magical energies that the Knights release into the æther (I do wish you would allow me to rename them). Your galley, the Dancing Ferocious, was airborne for some five hours under our third test and only needed to return to port when the metallic housing for the Knights became too hot. Indeed a portion of the planking underneath the housing has been scorched by the hot metal.   To this end I believe we have a solution. Trennen is pursuing several ideas I had about cooling the entire structure with water in the same way a smith would quench a sword. I know your Imperial Majesty will appreciate the simplicity of such a solution. Elyse, ever eager to explore the arcane, is leading a small group of researchers to pursue a magical solution. This solution should only take a few weeks to find and implement.   It is with great pleasure I tell you that we shall have the Dancing Ferocious airborne and ready to deploy by the end of Soldafain as you commanded.   For honor.
