Garn Surbendar

Garn Surbendar is the owner and barkeeper of The Devil's Orchard. He also owns a large apple orchard outside of Osenard's walls. His establishment is popular among travelers and adventurers passing through town.   He has a habit of telling tall tales about himself, including how he once defeated a dragon single-handedly. Unfortunately, most people who hear him speak don't realize that he's joking. Still, he does seem to enjoy having conversations with strangers, especially those who come from faraway lands.   His short, curly black hair is kept styled. His simple, common clothing shows off his muscular build.   Garn is introspective and contemplative. He tends to look down at the ground while thinking deeply, which makes him appear shy when not engaging his customers. He seems to take his job very seriously and takes pride in running a successful business. He always seems to know exactly what to say to put someone at ease. He is also a skilled fighter, though he rarely uses this skill unless necessary.   His goal is to make a difference in the lives of others by providing good food and drink. Drawing in traders and adventurers keeps legitimate business in the Rat Market, while also creating opportunities to acquire things people need that the law has made inaccessible.   He has great luck with his business dealings, and is well connected within the city. He knows everyone important in Osenard.   He doesn't have much respect for the law, particularly the wardens. He believes that the wardens' authority should be used only to maintain safety on the roads and city streets. Any other use of their power is a waste of time and resources in his eyes.   Outwardly, he is caring and creative; however, he is also a bit of a trickster. He enjoys playing pranks on people who annoy him.
