Echoes

Echoes are undead creatures that appear to be mindless. However, they can remember their last words perfectly and are drawn to people and places they preferred in life. They hide in the Marrow during the day and resurface to the Overworld in the dark of night. They don't actually haunt the living, however. Instead, they wander near the place of their death until someone speaks their name or utters a phrase from their past. Then, they repeat their last words before death. As their victim draws near, they strike from the shadows. Nobody's sure what happens to the people attacked by Echoes because they never leave behind a body. The victim is never seen again.
