Class Features Expanded

Battle Master Maneuvers

Available with the Superior Technique fighting style option or as a Fighter with the Battle Master subclass.

Kyūjutsu

When you make a ranged weapon attack with a shortbow or longbow on your turn, you can expend one superiority die to double the weapon's normal range for that attack. If you hit, add the superiority die to the weapon's damage roll.

Sōjutsu

When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can choose to expend one superiority die to defensively step away from the target. You add your superiority die to the attack's damage roll and the creature can't make opportunity attacks against you until the beginning of your next turn.

Fighting Styles

You adopt a particular style of fighting as your specialty. Choose one of the following options. You can't take the same Fighting Style option more than once, even if you get to choose again.

Daishō

When you are wielding a weapon with the versatile property in one hand and a weapon with the light propery in another, your versatile weapon gains both the finesse and light weapon property.

Iaijutsu

While you are not wearing heavy armor or wielding a shield, you gain a +2 bonus to initiative rolls and your movement speed increases by 5 feet.

Heavy Bow

You can use your Strength modifier instead of Dexterity for attacks and damage rolls when firing a longbow or shortbow.

Lancer

You do not have disadvantage when attacking targets within 5 feet of you while using a lance. If you attack a creature within 5-feet using a lance, you can use a bonus action to strike the creature again, dealing 1d4 bludgeoning damage on hit.

Ninjutsu

While you are not wearing medium or heavy armor or wielding a shield, you gain a +1 bonus to AC and gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.

Warrior Poet

You learn two cantrips of your choice from the bard spell list. Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for when you cast these spells (choose when you select this fighting style). Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of these cantrips with another cantrip from the bard spell list.

Eldritch Invocations

In your study of occult lore, you have unearthed eldritch invocations, fragments of forbidden knowledge that imbue you with an abiding magical ability.

Improved Pact of the Safeguard

Prerequisite: Pact of the Safeguard
You can cast shield without using a spell slot. Once you do so, you can't cast it in this way again until you finish a long rest.

Eldritch Bulwark

Prerequisite: 5th level, Pact of the Safeguard
Once per turn when you are hit by a creature while wielding your pact shield, you can expend a warlock spell slot to deal 1d8 force damage to the target, plus another 1d8 per level of the spell slot, and you can knock the target prone if it is Huge or smaller.

Eldritch Thorns

Prerequisite: 15th level, Pact of the Safeguard
When a creature hits you with a melee attack while you are wielding your pact shield, the creature takes magical piercing damage equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1).

Warlock Pact Boons

At 3rd level, your otherworldly patron bestows a gift upon you for your loyal service. You gain one of the following features of your choice.

Pact of the Safeguard

You can use your action to create a pact shield in your empty hand. You are proficient with it while you wield it and can use the shield as spellcasting focus for your Warlock spells. Your pact shield disappears if it is more than 5 feet away from you for 1 minute or more. It also disappears if you use this feature again, if you dismiss the shield (no action required), or if you die.   You can transform one magic shield into your pact shield by performing a special ritual while you hold the shield. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short rest. You can then dismiss the shield, shunting it into an extradimensional space, and it appears whenever you create your pact shield thereafter. You can't affect an artifact or a sentient shield in this way. The shield ceases being your pact shield if you die, if you perform the 1-hour ritual on a different shield, or if you use a 1-hour ritual to break your bond to it. The shield appears at your feet if it is in the extradimensional space when the bond breaks.
