Guide to Roleplaying Boards

The Roleplaying Boards are obviously a rather big one for Erelest, with this being a 1e AD&D world. This is for people to engage in roleplays with their D&D characters outside of sessions. Whether this is roleplaying a party's interaction between sessions A and B, or a character's down time when they're not with the party, or even just non-cannon fun where you do whatever you want without any consequences. It's a very open field so long as you follow the rules! There are generally three types of roleplaying threads, each with their own tag that must be added to the beginning of the thread title:   [DMRP] Dungeon Master Roleplaying - A roleplaying thread which is being overseen by an authorized Dungeon Master of Erelest. This is basically a D&D session, except that it is happening on a forum thread and not in person with live conversation. As a result, it is possible to gain experience points based on what happens, but the player is of course reminded that it is in fact a D&D session, and as such everything that happens is real, and will have consequences.   [FRPG] Free Roleplaying Game - A roleplaying thread which is considered cannon (or in other words, it is officially a part of Erelest timeline and has actually occured. Meaning if your character dies, then they're dead for real). Overall this thread will not have a Dungeon Master. However a DM may intervene at any point should anything the players write or add in the game that doesn't match lore (or even exist), controls any major organizations or characters (work force, guards, etc. can be controlled individually, but will not bear any clues/information regarding the campaign), or anything else that potentially violates Erelest or the campaign. Metagaming is just as illegal here as in sessions. If players ignore the Dungeon Master and do not work for a middle ground, their thread is subject to become null and void.   [NCRP] Non-Cannon Roleplaying - These threads are set in the world of Erelest. However they are not cannon whatsoever. This allows the roleplayers to do a lot with their characters, and try out many things without worrying about consequences. Make up your own cool adventures, see what your character would be like turned evil mastermind. Anything you want you can do! So long as you follow the forum rules that is.     While roleplaying is a lot of fun for everyone, things have to be taken under consideration. Not everyone is comfortable with everything after all. Thus we have rules to keep things from going too far, or making anyone uncomfortable.   1. KEEP IT SAFE FOR WORK! No sexual references, descriptions or activity, or nudity is allowed in any thread! 2. Keep language to a minimum! The words F**k, C**t, A*****e, J*****s and other words of the like are not allowed. Damn is allowed, but must not be used to such a ridiculous degree. If you are unsure if the word you're going to use is allowed or not (or if it's any of the mentioned words above) it's probably best to not use it just to be on the safe side. 3. Be kind, patient and considerate! No belittling, aggressive attitude, or anything like that regarding OOC commentary or actions. Examples outside OOC talk include posting twice or more times in a row, posting out of turn or out of order, etc. 4. Operate on Agreement. Decide beforehand what the turn order should be, what the thread will be about, what will occur in the thread, and so forth with the author. If the author is ok with anything happening however then this rule becomes lenient.
