Knights of St. Cuthbert

St. Cuthbert, the god of retribution is lawful neutral. He exacts revenge and punishment on those who transgress the law. He is associated with the domains of Destruction, Law, Protection, and Strength. Most who follow Cuthbert are lawful clerics who do more good than bad. However, over the last several years, a new sect calling themselves "The Knights of St. Cuthbert" have been conscripting new followers with much fervor.   These knights, who are not all literal knights, but rather a collection of rag tag rogues, clerics, knights, mages, and commoners, follow the teachings of an unknown leader. They have been sold the idea that the staff of dreams, and the magic power that it wields is in fact a transgression against the teachings of Cuthbert. They believe that the staff is an unnatural, unnecessary artifact created by weak, fool hearty people who would be better off to place their trust in St. Cutherbert. They believe that in the end St. Cuthbert alone should have the final say if the Realm of Ereglast should wither and die, or if it is worthy of their gods protection.   The Knights of St. Cuthbert as well versed in the laws of the realm, making sure not to land themselves in court, but they are not against laying down divine retribution against their foes if need be.
