Winterkeep

Winterkeep was a city in the Frontier. Constructed in the shape of a circle, there were three distinct rings, each designated for a different economic class. Each ring was separated by a wall or partition of varying quality.   Rings: Inner Ring: Population: The extremely wealthy and influential individuals in Winterkeep inhabit the Inner Ring. This includes politicians, scientists, businessmen, surgeons, and other elites. Housing: Lavish mansions, high-end apartments, and luxurious estates characterize the living spaces in the Inner Ring. Architecture reflects opulence and exclusivity. Security: The Inner Ring is heavily fortified with tall and thick walls, both above and below ground. The perimeter is under strict surveillance by elite Inner Ring military forces, ensuring a secure and controlled environment. There is a disintegration barrier above the Inner Ring, which prohibits unauthorized access from above. Trade: Most trade with the Inner Ring is done through planes that fly in. A section of the wall becomes intangible, which allows for the plane to land on the designated strip. Access: Entry into the Inner Ring is highly restricted. Only those with express permission, accompanied by an Inner Ring escort and possessing valid Inner City magic IDs, are allowed to pass through multiple checkpoints. Middle Ring:   Population: The working class of Winterkeep resides in the Middle Ring. This includes teachers, nurses, accountants, and some engineers. The Middle Ring forms a bridge between the affluent Inner Ring and the marginalized Outer Ring. Housing: Housing in the Middle Ring ranges from modest apartments to comfortable homes. While not as extravagant as the Inner Ring, it offers more stability and comfort than the Outer Ring. Security: The only security involved with those coming from the outer ring to the middle ring is a few checkpoints of guards around the 15 foot tall, 5 foot thick wall. All you need to enter is to have a valid magic ID, with no outstanding warrants or past violent crimes. Access: Middle Ring residents have dual employment opportunities, working within their own ring and in the Inner Ring. This allows for a more interconnected community with some degree of economic mobility. Outer Ring:   Population: The outermost ring is more akin to a prison than a home. It houses miners, retail workers, construction workers, food service employees, the unemployed, and the homeless. Housing: The Outer Ring features crowded and dilapidated housing, with limited access to basic amenities. Conditions are harsh, and homelessness is a prevalent issue. Access: Individuals from the Outer Ring can work in the Inner Ring with a valid work pass and signed contract.
