Saint Corvida

Saint Corvida , Patroness of the Dying (a.k.a. Sister Death, Mistress of the Ravens)

Also known as "Sister Death". Ancestor of Oloward the Magnificent . Protectress of the Twelfth Precept. Ravens adorn the gates of cemeteries in her honour.   Patroness of the Order of the White Raven.   Saint Corvida's skull tops the Wand of Orcus, a fact alluded to by the fact that all relics of her do not include a head. Corvida's soul is kept imprisoned in the Immortal Realms by Orcus, but she outwitted the Horned Lord of the Undead by conspiring with the archfey Chiall-Dia and Grindelwrath the Prime, the first Guardian of the Twelfth Precept to take over her duties of protecting the border between life and death.   The popular superstition that ravens hear prayers for the dead is therefore true in a twisted way: Corvida herself can't intercede with God, but the ravens may report prayers for the dead to Chiall-Dia, who has a more direct way with God.
